I am not sure exactly where you were going with your first point. Sorry, perhaps I shouldn't be looking at this website so late in the day.
Another way of looking at the issue is this: if we reject the message of Christ and the Bible, God will condemn us to hell for all eternity. That is pretty serious, don't you think.
If in any way we could doubt the truth and trustworthiness of the Bible how could God condemn us for eternity? We would have an excuse.
Clever arguments might hold out for a while but only because their supporters don't have all the information.
The evidence is overwhelming and no-one could make excuses. The Bible holds out to every scrutiny , as long as we are honest and don't ignore apparent difficulties. Christ rose from the dead to prove he is God, no other option is possible.
When we preach we should not fear that people might come up with clever reasons not to believe. C S Lewis said he would rather defend a roaring lion than the Bible. Let its opponents read it for themselves!!
The Word of God will stand forever, both Old and New Testaments.
2 Timothy 3 v 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness
Matthew 5 v 18: For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.
