Christian/Muslim Threadsa must readNo, those aren't laws, and the part about keeping pacts/charities are not new laws brought by that Surah. Also, religious laws encompass all the beliefs and acts necessary for every Muslim, political rulings like that don't negate one's Islam nor does their implementation make one a Muslim. No they aren't new. Go check all the other Surahs and you'll notice that Alms giving did not begin with the last Surah. Large, small, or even a word. The gravity would be the same. Haha, basically you'd like the dialogue to go as follows: "…a large portion will be lost…" "large? Exactly how large, because if it's not TOO much we can handle that" "it's pretty large, bro" That entire web page was on those verses that deal with the story! Where did you find extraneous material? Also, it's not advisable at all to study a religion without the exegesis of people who know the language in which it was revealed OR the exegesis of the Prophet. This is common sense. Yes you can make out the important points, but the details require knowledge. That's what scholars are for, that's why I link you to people who can provide complete answers. They aren't taken "for the purpose of sex" they are taken as "servants". Here's the same question asked by a Muslim: The WHOLE page is relevant: http://63.175.194.25/index.php?ln=eng&d ... 2562&dgn=4 http://63.175.194.25/index.php?ln=eng&d ... 5707&dgn=4 http://63.175.194.25/index.php?ln=eng&d ... 3737&dgn=4 Yeah I said I agree with the team's answer. They weren't being killed en masse (because there were 200 of them in total before they left from Meccah to Medina) but many WERE killed. The boycott happened around the time of the Hijra. It mentioned abuse. Read about why they migrate to Abysinnia also: http://www.arabnews.com/?supname=prophe ... =11&part=7 Secondary: http://www.arabnews.com/?supname=prophe ... =11&part=8 http://www.arabnews.com/?supname=prophe ... =11&part=6 I am being objective. It wasn't from that one incident with the honey that the wives suddenly became jealous, that was the event that culminated in a building tension in the household. I don't see how you take the tafsir that seems more "logical" (sexualized) over the one that is true. You're the one here who when having to choose between two explanations, chooses the one which makes the event the most sexualized or hateful, and this is without fail. Seriously bro, go take a cold shower or something, this orientalism is taking over you. These are the words of God, you're not Going to find every jurisprudential or historical detail they relate to in the Qur'an itself. In the entire Qur'an it doesn't mention HOW to pray, that's what TAFSIR is for. Only an ignorant person would walk up to you and say "oh yeah? Well I don't want to pray that way, show me in the Qur'an where it says to pray like that, I want to pray however I interpret that verse". Here's some more exegesis, read the top third: http://www.seveneightsix.com/surah66.htm and this: click on the commentary box and choose surah 66 http://www.al-islam.org/quran/ Yes we know Adam (pbuh) is a prophet, but no mention is made of Eve. Yes, they are equal but a Prophet is one that is delineated by God. Fornication is a sin, even if people can do it "safely". So if God told you not to eat Pork you would call that an idiotic rule? It doesn't matter what God tells you to do, you should do it. What the Prophets WRITE, is accurate. Whether or not we still have what they wrote is a different story. Prophets wouldn't err like that, people would. Think about what you're saying. A lot of Eastern religions have scriptures, Bhuddism for example. Now when you doubt THEIR scriptures, they will yell "but this came from Bhudda, and Bhudda would never lie". Ok, if Bhudda was truly a Prophet he wouldn't lie, but we don't KNOW what he really said because his teachings haven't really been preserved. He may very well have said the truth and people later just started building gold statues of him everywhere. Does that mean he lied? No. Does it mean we can take the Bhuddist Scriptures as his own quotes for sure? No. But there's like 60 pages on the topic! I can't type all that, that's what books are for. I seriously think it's worth the read. First of all, ANYTHING you know about God should have come from God or His Prophets. The only way we can be sure is to first identify these prophets then trace the UNCORRUPTED Scriptures back to them 100%. What I'm saying is very reasonable. It's not about love, it's about what they did to prove they preserved them. Did they copy their scriptures in front of Moses (pbuh) and Jesus (pbuh)? Did they memorize them? Did they transmit them with 100% accuracy by memorizing and transcribing them in the same way they did before Moses and Jesus disappeared? People who love the word of God must PROVE they did everything they could to keep it. But sometimes you will things that don't or can't happen. The difference is that everything happens that God wills. The difference between the Messengers and normal people is that they had Scripture directly revealed to them. We feel comfort from God among other things, but we don't receive His words directly. Only Mormons believe otherwise about their modern "Prophets" Also, God did NOT allow His Message to be corrupted. There were always people who continued to believe the correct message about Jesus (pbuh) until the Qur'an was revealed. No, I only have faith in God, not men. Mormons say the exact same thing that you just did if you disbelieve that they have Prophets currently. The Muslim world wouldn't be so backwards if it was ruled by Islam, not dictators. Wait a minute. Muhammad (pbuh) came AFTER Jesus (pbuh). Do you mean if Muhammad (pbuh) teleported back in time or if Jesus (pbuh) went FORWARD in time? If you mean Jesus (pbuh) went forward in time, he would have gone with Muhammad (pbuh). If you meant that Muhammad went back in time 1400 years, then the Qur'an wasn't revealed yet and everyone would have obeyed Jesus (pbuh). Please, please, read this, this explains what "men are the protectors" means, you should know: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/masud/ISLA ... wamuna.htm Also, yes a woman can give her husband a light hit, though I don't think it would do any good, heh. The tapping is supposed to indicate the seriousness of a problem or conversation, like about the risk of adultery for example. Syria I meant that God doesn't reward people on Earth on a one-to-one basis. You can't look at the richest person on Earth and say "wow, God must love him more than us" or take a look at a poor person and say "God must REALLY hate them". Also, the Islamic ideology is the most powerful on earth. Communism is dead, you're right. Whoa whoa whoa, nobody says God has "one body and one form"! God does not have a form or limitations or measurements. Substances have to change to different forms and aren't ever all three forms at one time. God doesn't change. Why is it so hard to believe that God created mankind from clay? Do you think this is too miraculous or something? Too difficult for God. Also, evolution is NOT backed by science! No, the human body wasn't derived from earlier beings. I don't think the "useless things" are useless because they clearly separate those that believe God created mankind from those who believe that the useless things negate God's creation and imply evolution. That's a good question. I think both our bodies and souls have been blessed over other living creations. Peace bro |
