ArchivedPaul - 100% Right? All the time? There are many today which God calls to do the kind of evangelizing which was done in Jesus' time. But the Great Commission is not only restricted around "door to door." You can evangelize in many ways, according to the gifts God has given you or what the Holy Spirit tells you. In fact, with all this technology we have today, it gives people less of a reason to reject the gospels, because it makes it much easier to spread the gospel. How do you think the saying of our Lord "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come" will come to pass? This age makes that saying from Jesus give us more hope. And it is just further evidence of the truth of Jesus' words. I agree with you that the interpretations of the Holy Bible which society brings can get out of hand. But this is only because of the lack of Bible study as a whole. What did Jesus say all the laws of the prophets fall under, what commandment was it? To love God with everything you've got and to love your neigbor as yourself. If anything breaks these commandments, it doesn't matter what society says, it is wrong. But the covering of the head and things of that nature does not have anything to do with loving God or your neigbor as yourself. If this was the case, God would not have initially made man and woman naked. Men wore skirts back then. (Just look at some Irish men). We've really changed these days in terms of clothing. No one hardly wears a robe in public anymore. 1 Samuel 15:27>And as Samuel turned about to go away, he laid hold upon the skirt of his mantle, and it rent. 1 Samuel 24:4>...............Then David arose, and cut off the skirt of Saul's robe privily. Ezekiel 16:8>Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord GOD, and thou becamest mine. |
