ArchivedPaul - 100% Right? All the time?Some Christians believe that Paul was referring to the women of that time. That was how the culture was back then and you have to realize that Paul was writing the letter to the Corinthian Church. I agree with this, because when reading the Bible from its context, there were women teachers like Priscilla (Acts 18:26) and prophtess' like Miriam (Exodus 15) and Deborah (Jude 4). So for Paul to say these things to women should be interpretated in terms of what kind of society he was addressing. You also have to realize that most likely the women were unlearned back then (gotta be careful here ) and therefore it would be better for them to be silent. Still though, it is better to stick to biblical teachings and humble ourselves before God and for a man to be the head of the Church. |
