My understanding of the Bible is fine. I just consider it a piece of fiction and you consiser it the word of God. I respect your beliefs, but you cannot deny the sins of our forefathers. I also know that we all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. I just feel that parts of the Bible. the old testament in particular, are filled with laws that in today's world would be considered barbaric. Let's face it, woman had no rights.
I always thought that Christians were really more inclined to follow the teachings in the new testament. I do not profess to be a Bible scholar. I guess I cannot understand why anyone would take the Bible literally. I also realize the Christians on this site who quote verse after verse to show that homosexuality is an abomination are just quoting scripture that they trully believe in. Everyone has a right to believe what they choose. I guess I am just trying to understand why Christian people care what same sex couples do behind closed doors. I thought Christians were not to judge others. It seems some of the people who post on the site are so hateful. I have read your posts Aineo, and while you have your beliefs, you still help homosexuals in need. I read that you do not try to convert them, but that you are just there for them. I just wish more Christians had a caring attitude. Perhaps the media is to blame for my feelings toward fundamentalist Chtistians. Do you feel Chritians are portrayed accurately in the media? The only reason I ask is I see these people protesting at gay funerals telling (screaming at )gay people they are going to burn in hell. This just bothers me so much. Perhaps I am being influenced by a biased media.
