Archivedcan god hate????Umm... Keep reading the rest of your post..... Perhaps I'm misunderstanding what you mean, but this last argument comes off as saying, "The Bible doesn't say 'God is holy.' It only says 'Holy is the Lord.' But it does say 'God is love. Therefore, God's love is the important thing." But obviously that's not what you mean, so you need to explain yourself a little better. Case in point - you need to explain yourself better. These two sentences make no sense whatsoever as far as supporting what you are trying to say in opposition to what I have said. To the contrary, they seem to uphold the position that I am maintaining - Verily is said twice to emphasize it, how much more so should Holy be emphasized since it is said three times. How does this support your argument? Of course He can be both..... He must! My point, however, is that His love is "bound" (if you will) by His holiness. As an example, God does not love sin. He cannot because he is holy. Conversely, if He were "all-loving" then He would have to love sin, because by definition all-loving means loving everything. Are you prepared to make that claim? |
