Right. Humans didn't evolve from monkeys. All of a sudden, around 7000 years ago, God just zapped humans into existence. He can't have just made 2, and I think there's Biblical evidence against it.
I just find it strange why God didn't just zap humans right first time. It's like he had some warm ups before the final attempt. And even the final attempt has flaws.
The fossil record clearly documents the existence of creatures halfway between humans and apes. They're dated in order. I just don't see the conflict with agreeing we are biological descended from apes but spiritually created by God. After all, God created the apes, a wonder in itself. It's even more amazing he chose a point in time to reveal himself to a select species of his creation, creating as he did so a human rather that an animal, not by physical bringing them into existence, but by giving them souls.
Could this "creation" of humankind be what Genesis is banging on about?
