Subject: Discussions out of hand
Bless you in Jesus' Name,
I just wanted to express to you about how these so called debates are going. Quite frankly, it seems as though that whoever throws the most questions at the other will end up being the winner. So far, it just seems to be one mass confusion after another. I would like to make a suggestion in hopes it may be interest to both Muslims and Christians.
Since we have so many question in regards to other's religeous contradications. We should start at the beginning and determine which book is true. Both Muslims and Christians believe their own book is the Word of God (Allah). Both also believe that the other's book is false or corrupted. This is where we need to focus as to which book is speaking the truth or not.
The Holy Bible talks about false prophets but never pin point to any particular faith or book. The Bible teaches that if it is not inline with the Word of God in the Bible, then everything is considered false. Again, it never points to any particular faith, religion or book....just in general.
On the other hand, the Qur'an states that the Bible is authentic and true and should be followed. However, the Muslims claim that the Bible is/was corrupted. This indeed should be the first topic to discuss before moving on to any other subjects or topics because the Qur'an is very clear about the "People of the Book".
So it is fair to say that the first question should be, "Where does it say in the Qur'an that the Bible was/is corrupted? The Muslims will then need to base their argument by using their own Qur'an or Hadiths to prove their claim of the Bible being corrupted. Muslims also CANNOT use the Bible to prove their claim. Christians on the other hand can quote the Qur'an also along with the Hadiths.
The rules would be:
If a claim is of a particular scripture of a book, then all evidence should derive from that book(s)
Example:
A Christian can ask, "Where does it say in the Qur'an that the Bible is/was corrupted?" along with one scripture from the Qur'an. If I use Sura 3:3 to say that the Bible is authentic according to the Qur'an, then the Muslims must prove it is/was corrupted by using their only resource...the Qur'an. The entire discussion would then need to use the Qur'an and Hadith as the only resource for both parties.
The same goes in reverse. If the Muslims has a question about a scripture such as "Where in the Bible does it say that Jesus is God?" along with one scripture from the Bible saying that Jesus is not God. The Christian would then need to prove otherwise by using the Bible as the only resource. Again the entire discussion would then need to use the Bible as the only resource for both parties.
Am I making any sense?
Your thoughts?
In His Name,
Eddie
