Truthfully I threw out everything I had ever been taught 21 years ago and started from scratch. I could care less what many Protestants teach unless it violates Biblical truth. My authority is the Bible, not some personality out to make a name for himself or some Pope who thinks Mary is more worthy of attention than Jesus
Mary deserves honor and respect, the Pope doesnt give her more attention then Christ.
JP II has place the world in the care of Mary. No if that is not giving her more honor than Jesus what is it?
What is Mary to you Aieno? to most Protestants Mary is just a baby factory!
Mary is the mother of our Lord. One reason some, not all and in fact very few, non-Catholic Christians down play Mary is because the RCC has elevated her to a demi-god. Like the reformation the RCC can accept most of the blame for this.

Finish what I posted. Interesting that you quoted the whole paragraph and then emphasized only what you wanted to. To finish the thought, and then a member of the RCC posts a link ot the right source., which by the way you never do. All we get from you is your opinion of Catholic doctrine
my opinion? I told you last time I try never to give my opinion concerning issues of the Church and doctrine. Why? because I dont want to give a personal opinion that contradicts the churches or that might be incorrect.
Then why don't you link to sites that back up what you say? Like the canon is based solely on tradition until I guess you read the truth.
I prefer not to interpretate the bible, as I do not believe in individual interpretations. Its not biblical.
You on the other hand are guilty in this perticular area, you always interpretate scripture and translate it to fit your point of veiw.
I quote Scripture in context, define words you apparently don't understand and you tell me I am interpreting the Bible? Check out the Catholic Encyclopedia and the catechism and count the number of time "interpret" is used. I like many non-Catholics seek to "understand the Bible.

Pro-Catholic sites? Do a search on co-redemptrix and see how many pro-Catholic sites lead to the wrong conclusion. How about some real meat and not just opinions?
what is that wrong conclusion?
What is the right conclusion then?
Well, does the RCC worship Mary? Not according to the catechism, but until about a month ago most of the pro Mary for co-redemptrix sites plainly stated the RCC does worship Mary. So you tell me what is the right conclusion?

Well then RomeSweetHome you have not bothered to really check it out have you? Both the Protestant link and the Catholic link I posted to the formation of the canon refer to criteria used and tradition is not one of them.
Post them both again so that I may have a look.
By the way there are many other sites and books that I have that confirm my previous posts about the NT canon and Oral tradition.
I prefer reading books then searching sites, as a book is more realiable source. After all any Tom, Dick and Harry can make a web site.
Peace
Both are on this thread go back and look for them. The International Standard Bible Encyclopedia is a book in public domain that was copywrited in 1915 and has been made available on the net. Why pay $50 or more for a book you can use for free? The Catholic Encyclopedia 1914 edition is also available on the net at no cost.
Any Tom, Dick, and Harry can publish a book also if they have the money or the connections to get it published. Just because you have to pay for a book does not make it more authoritative than a well researched web site. I have read some very biased histories that were not worth the time it took to print them.
