Ok lets set some things straight: Incestuous relationships back in that culture and time would not have been considered something so perverse as it is considered today (one obvious reason is that incestuous relationships would obviously have had been necessary and somewhat common in the earliest generations, in order for the human race to propogate from Adam and Eve, and even after the great flood that wiped everyone out except those on Noah’s ark). However this fact does not make it morally correct, and is for this reason that the Bible condemns the practice in Leviticus.
This is in STARK CONTRAST to Muhammed who followed many cultural norms including that of marrying and having sexual relationships with young girls before they even reached puberty, without any regret, or Quranic condemnation of the practice.
I’d like to jump ahead for a bit and assert something a lot of Muslims miss when they try and bring these issues up, and that is: Muhamamad is held up as a universal example by Muslims today. Moses, Lot and the other prophets of the OT are not held up in the same way by Christians. The paradigm followed by Christians is Jesus.
So, whilst some of the verses you raise in regards to the conduct of some of the prophets (which the Bible appropriately depicts to portray the truth and emphasise God’s mercy despite some of their actions) is troublesome, it does not get you of the hook. Muslim soldiers today can rape the women they capture and claim Muhammad's example - as it still a live example, according to Islam.
Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri:
We got female captives in the war booty and we used to do coitus interruptus with them. So we asked Allah's Apostle about it and he said, "Do you really do that?" repeating the question thrice, "There is no soul that is destined to exist but will come into existence, till the Day of Resurrection."
(Sahih Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 62, Number 137)
Narrated Ibn Muhairiz:
I entered the Mosque and saw Abu Said Al-Khudri and sat beside him and asked him about Al-Azl (i.e. coitus interruptus). Abu Said said, "We went out with Allah's Apostle for the Ghazwa of Banu Al-Mustaliq and we received captives from among the Arab captives and we desired women and celibacy became hard on us and we loved to do coitus interruptus. So when we intended to do coitus interrupt us, we said, 'How can we do coitus interruptus before asking Allah's Apostle who is present among us?" We asked (him) about it and he said, 'It is better for you not to do so, for if any soul (till the Day of Resurrection) is predestined to exist, it will exist."
(Sahih Bukhari, Volume 5, Book 59, Number 459)
Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri:
That during the battle with Bani Al-Mustaliq they (Muslims) captured some females and intended to have sexual relation with them without impregnating them. So they asked the Prophet about coitus interruptus. The Prophet said, "It is better that you should not do it, for Allah has written whom He is going to create till the Day of Resurrection." Qaza'a said, "I heard Abu Sa'id saying that the Prophet said, 'No soul is ordained to be created but Allah will create it."
(Sahih Bukhari, Volume 9, Book 93, Number 506)
Narrated Ibn Muhairiz
I saw Abu Said and asked him about coitus interruptus. Abu Said said, "We went with Allah's Apostle, in the Ghazwa of Barli Al-Mustaliq and we
captured some of the 'Arabs as captives, and the long separation from our wives was pressing us hard and we wanted to practice coitus interruptus. We asked Allah's Apostle (whether it was permissible). He said, "It is better for you not to do so. No soul, (that which Allah has) destined to exist, up to the Day of Resurrection, but will definitely come, into existence."
(Sahih Bukhari, Volume 3, Book 46, Number 718)
Note that Muhammad does not ban sex with slave women, rather he bans coitus interruptus on the grounds of predestination; if Allah wants a child born, it will be born. So the question is: were these captive women human beings or just "war booty" to be used for sex?
Muhammed allowed this and therefore presumably Muslims who follow the sira are to copy/permit the rape of captives. (Indeed, this practice has been reported among certain radical jihadi groups).
Turning back to the issue of Muhammed’s child molestation, the fact he engaged in such a disgusting and damaging cultural practice, should disturb the good conscience of any sound minded Muslim. The action must be questioned, regardless of it being a cultural norm (a cultural norm doesn’t make it morally correct), because Muhammad's action and teachings on marriage established an Islamic precedent: a girl is judged an adult following her first menses, and is eligible for marriage and sexual relations. Thus Muslim men are allowed to marry and have intercourse with young girls who have happened to have an early first menstrual cycle. There is medical proof that this leads to physical and psychological damage to the child.
In terms of both physical and metal development, Aishah's was still a child, playing with dolls and completely unaware of what was happening around her.
Narrated 'Aishah: I used to play with the dolls in the presence of the Prophet, and my girl friends also used to play with me. When Allah's Apostle used to enter (my dwelling place) they used to hide themselves, but the Prophet would call them to join and play with me.(Volume 8, Book 73, Number 151)
The playing with the dolls and similar images is forbidden, but it was allowed for 'Aishah's at that time, as she was a little girl, not yet reached the age of puberty. (Fateh-al-Bari page 143, Vol.13)
Muhammad had the ability to change and shape the culture of the people who followed him or submitted to him. Muhammed proclaimed himself as the final prophet of God and taught his followers to follow his lifestyle, i.e., to have their culture centered around his way of life. If it was good enough for Muhammad to take a young girl, then it is okay for Muslim men today to do this and this is evident practice amongst some Muslims in the world today.
"Surely in the Messenger of God you have a good example". 33:21 (I beg to differ!!!)
This verse states his lifestyle was the one to be emulated, therefore in part, he bears the judgment for this child abuse in the Islamic world today. Girls at age 9 are not mature enough, either physically, emotionally, or mentally, to be put into those type of "marriage" situations. If Muhammed were really from God he would never have allowed such perverse “dictum” to be set in motion. Surely, the true God would have set much better and more responsible guidelines for dealing with children.
Again I assert: "Muhamamad is held up as a universal example by Muslims today. Moses, Lot and the other prophets of the OT are not held up in the same way by Christians. The paradigm followed by Christians is Jesus. "
Jesus Christ is my "guidepost" and I am not ashamed of ANYTHING that He did or said!!! He is the perfect sinless exemplar for mankind:
Jesus said: 'I have left you an example to follow' – Yes Lord you left the PERFECT example!
Jesus said, "You shall know them by their fruits", Matthew 7:20. We see that one of Muhammad's fruits was allowing young girls to be subjected to a brutal custom and another allowed him to give consent to the rape of war victims. <--- Behold the messenger of Islam and the good example that he left.
