1. I have always heard that to know and to believe are two very different things, but no one ever been able to tell me how you get the word from your brain to your heart... ex. I "know" that God loves me, but I don't "believe" he does...
2. I have often been told that i am exceptaly good at debating. I always know the right thing to say, but I don't read the word often. People listen to my opinoins because i don't "bible thump" as they would say. But I know that all my witty remarks are from me and not put there by the holy spirit. Should I continue debating anyway? Or leave off and fix me first. Like the log in the eye thing.
3. When does a debate ceasee to be a debate and become an arguemnet? is it so wrong to let it become one? my friend does not believe in debates.. he says that there is only one objective truth (which i agree with) and therefore disagreeing is a sin (which i don't). A lot of his beliefs are false though, he berates the women of today for how they dress saying it causes him to sin and therefore they are all sinning... even when they don't dress that bad... How do you approach a man who thinks that the very fact that you disagree with him is a sin and refuses to debate about it?
