ArchivedPicturesAieno Wrote My comments were that we need not follow things exactly how they were in the OT, that is not a commandment given to us by Christ. He told us he wasn't comming to delete the law yet he did change some of it, therefore we need not follow it in a fully Jewish perspective. Aieno Wrote
You are right Aieno I will post that we dont worship images! Why honor those dead in Christ? Because you simply Just said why, because they died IN Chirst, faithful to all his commandements and teachings. They lived the lives we wish to achieve. In honoring the saints on account of their holiness, which was God's work, we honor God himself, as we honor an artist when we admire one of his masterpieces. It would be foolish and superstitious to invoke an image, when we pray before an image, our prayer is directed to the person it represents. But is it not some kind of idolatry to turn to these for help, as if they had some kind of divine power? which they dont! Peace |
