ArchivedPicturesThe snake was a test of obedience and like you posted it became a source of idolatry and was destroyed. Maybe the RCC needs to take a lesson from this and destroy the images they use since many are worshipping the images and the people the images represent. We can learn from what the OT shares and teaches. Give man a inch and he will take a mile. Put an image in a church and eventually it will become an idol, which is why the snake had to be destroyed and the statues or images in the Temple were hidden in the Holy of Holies not out in the court for all to see. StreetDeacon, images used in worship is the context of the 2nd commandment.
RomeSweetHome, there is a formula that God gave Moses for the incense to be burned in the tabernacle and the temple. Any incense not made in this manner was called "strange incense" and was not to be used. So if you are going to appeal to the Temple worship and practice the same ceremonies then you need to adhere to those ceremonies 100%. Your comments about eating pork and keeping the Sabbath are both addressed in Scripture and you know that as well as I do. I would expect this type of comment from a non-believer but for a "Christian" to use it is ludicrous. |
