Luke is probably more accurate.
I tend to believe that Matthew is a fictional gospel writer. For example, he is the only gospel to report that dead saints rose after the death of Jesus where none of the other ones mention this important event. One can wonder about those resurrected saints. One also may wonder why such a huge event never appears on the other gospels and also never was it mentioned in any other historical documents.
He also mentions the killing of children. Historically this event is only recorded by Matthew. He falsely refers to something written in the OT to show it as a prophecy while as a matter of fact it was only about the children of Babylon.
