Muslim have increased by over 235% in the last fifty years up to nearly 1.6 billion (from 209,020,000 to 700,000,000). In the annual statistic of world religion stated that Muslim population in year 2000 is 1,215,693,000. It is projected that by year 2025 the population will increase by 35.8% and amount to 1,894,436,000. (Source: "Annual Statistical Table on Global Mission" by David B.Barrett & Todd M.Johnson in International Bulletin of Missionary Research, Jan 1999, pg 24-25). Source: http://www.muis.gov.sg/websites/mabims/sumber.asp America According to the research, America now has about 1,209 mosques, most of which were constructed very recently. Thirty percent of these mosques were built in the 1990s, and 32% were built in the 1980s. Other statistics show that in 1994, the total number of mosques in America was 962; in 2000, there was a 25% increase in this number. These data show a natural parallel with the growing number of Muslims. For example, according to determinations made in 1994, the number of Muslims attending mosque services was 500,000; in 2000, this figure had increased to 2 million-an approximately 300% increase. A significant part of this number is composed of people who converted to Islam. The same research shows that about 30% of those worshippers are converts. According to these data, about 20,000 Americans accept Islam every year. (Mosque Study Project, www.cair-net.org.) A New York Times article, "Islam Attracts Converts by the Thousands," contains interviews with converts, analyzes Islam's rapid rise in America, and states: With some 6 million adherents in the United States, Islam is said to be the nation's fastest-growing religion, fueled by immigration, high birth rates and widespread conversion. One expert estimates that 25,000 people a year become Muslims in this country; some clerics say they have seen conversion rates quadruple since Sept. 11.( The New York Times, October 22, 2001) Americans have approached Muslim organizations in order to find the most accurate information about Islam and Islamic history. As a result of this interest, the Middle East Media Research Institute reported that after 9/11, 34,000 Americans converted to Islam.( Terror in America, Muslim American Leaders: A Wave of Conversion to Islam in the U.S. Following September 11," MERIM Special Dispatch, November 16, 2001.) Europe Today, more than 15 million Muslims create an integral part of Europe. Some of them are highly educated immigrants and converts. While many are underprivileged workers who help fill blue-collar jobs, have little political access, if any, and face frequent discrimination, especially in the post 9/11 era. In Britain, where 1.6 million Muslims live, a London-based Islamic human rights group reported 344 incidents of ant-Muslim violence against Muslims in the year after Sept. 11, including the stabbing of a Muslim woman. Instead of confronting the post Sept.11 anti-Muslim phobia, these new laws will scapegoat Muslims for the real problems dwindling Europe’s ability to build on its traditions of multiculturalism and tolerance; its need for economic and political reform; and the rise of the extreme right. (http://usa.mediamonitors.net/content/view/full/5486/) England Over the past 20 years, an estimated 20,000 people in England have converted and, as in many other countries, the movement toward Islam has accelerated. According to the Manchester Mosque, after the events of 9/11, sixteen individuals accepted Islam there alone. One of the interesting things revealed by such research on converts is that far more women are turning to Islam. In America, one in four converts is a woman; in England, the figure is one in two. (The Telegraph, December 31, 2001) France 40 000 according to this source (http://www.brookings.edu/fp/cusf/analysis/islam.htm) or 50,000 converts of ethnic French origin, In past 20 years( http://www.meforum.org/article/337) Well what keeps you and other Christians to make more Christian children? And tell me how many people you knew in Turkey that have more then one wife. Oh ye Turkey is secular. As well as other countries only 18% of muslims are arabs and I doubt that majority has more than 2 wifes. You asking me number but at the same time saying that number is not important. Ok then give me link for those imams who became Christians and I will give you link to priests who convert to Islam. I am not talking about people who just lived in secular country never practiced it and became Christian or Muslim. I know plenty of them myself. Ok in above I gave you solid numbers and now please you give me at least something like this. Peace out P.S. I would highly appreciate if we would not discuss about my personal issues. You don't have to show yourself and my location because it does not mean anything but it is disturbance for me. So thanks for understanding. If you don't mind please delete those informations. |
