ArchivedIs there any?I don't mind... I am a Turk. I left the country I was born when I was 22, so if you would like to discount those years I was a child and didn't have comprehension of God, it is around 14-15 years. I don't look at it that way, There is the belief system of Islam (iman) and there are the duties in Islam (din) Iman consists; 1. There is One God 2. God created Angels 3. God appointed Prophets for every age 4. Holy Books 5. The Judgement day 6. Decrees of God Din consists; 1. Confession (shahadah) 2. Salat 3. Zakat 4. Fast 5. Hajj 6. Jihad So basically I didn't do my duties but I believed in the 6 items of Iman, did I have faith? No I didn't have faith. Feel free to ask, my dad said DON'T DO IT, it is a sin, you will go to hell. A week later, he said, ok you can become a Christian I will take that sin for you. I was like whatever, I was sure I was going to learn more about Christ. My mom didn't have any comment, she is OK with it. My brother is becoming a Christian too, he just keeps reading at the moment, books from Josh McDowell and the Bible itself of course. What part of the Bible? Gospels, the life of Christ, The words of the Christ, the reason He came, the prophecies that point to him. Also evidence of Christ and his ministry. On a final note, I don't call myself, exmuslim nor I tell people I was indeed a muslim, that is NOT fair to those who practice their islamic faith to the full extent. I was raised with muslim traditions yes but that does not mean I was a muslim. There is a brother on this forum, his name is Jefferson originally from Morocco, he was indeed a practicing muslim, now a Christian. Visit us here; http://www.exmuslim.com/forum/index.php |
