ArchivedThe Savior, First SinPeace Carol, nice to see common terms.. Well Islam is religion of Perfect balance. A muslim should always take the middle way, or moderate way. God has many divine attributes. There's also perfect balance. He is the Most Merciful, Benevolent but He is also the Punisher of bad deeds. One hast to love Allah but also fear Him. Fear (Reja) and Hope (Hawf) are two important concepts. You fear that you will never see Paradise, but you hope that you will never see hell too. Life is balance between two. Maybe the bloody Christian history is due to the improper balance between these two. If you are so assured you can be more inclined to go astray. Finally, as you cited Muhammad pbuh if we will go to Paradise it is due to His Mercy He bestows upon us. Omar r.a. asked many times a companion of Prophet pbuh if he was among the hypocrites. (Prophet pbuh revealed the hypocrites among his followers to one of His companions, but never made it public.) You will never be desperate of salvation, but never be so assured of it too. Because when we think we are assured of salvation, we are acting our own view of our deeds. We see ourselves worthy of something. That has a trace of arrogance. Let us leave the judgement to God, even about ourselves. May God keep us on balance. Unite |
