Peace to you both
Interesting question as well in this topic.
First of all, let's look at what is common to both Christianity and Islam
Both faiths have as their basic doctrine, that God is alone to be worshipped and that beside Him there is no God.
Both faiths are working hard to show the world that the worship of any other God beside God Himself is Idolatry.
Both faiths say that they know the way to come to God and worship Him in an acceptable way
But it's at this point we differ.
In the Qur'an this is what is written of those who are Muslims. and who have spent their life earnestly seeking God and to do right
[19] Every single one of you must see it; this is an irrevocable decision of your Lord.
[19] Then we rescue the righteous, and leave the transgressors in it, humiliated.
In context this is saying that everyone MUST see hell.
Abd-Elrazak cited Ibn Ayeena, who cited Ibn Abi Khalid, who cited Qyse Ibn Abi Hazim, who said that Abdullah Ibn Rowaha was putting his head on his wife's lap, he wept, his wife wept, he asked her: Why do you weep? "I saw you weeping so I wept" she answered. He said I remembered what Allah said "Not one of you but will enter it." I do not know if I will escape from it or not.
Ibn Qurair cited Abu-Kareeb, who cited Ibn Yaman, who cited Malik Ibn Magul, who cited Abu-Ishacc, who said: Abu Mysarah used to say every night before he goes to bed, I wish that my mother had not given birth of me, then weep. Someone asked him "Why do you weep Abu Mysarah?" "The Quran told us that we shall enter Hell, but we were not told that we will get out of it."
Abdu-Allah Ibn Al-Mubarak cited Al-Hasan Al-Basari: A man said to his brother: do you know that you will enter Hell fire? "yes" his brother answered. "Do you know if you will get out of it?" he asked. "No" his brother answered. "Why do you laugh then?" From that time on he was never seen laughing till he died (Ibn Katheir on Surat Maryam Vol. 3, page 129).
Now, contrast this with what the God of the Bible says to His true followers
Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life (John 5:24 NKJ).
e real Christian is completely assured that he or she will never enter hell fire:
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit (Romans 8:1).
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life (I John 5:13).
You see can't you? When Satan refused to bow down before humans as recorded in the Qur'an, He was saying to God "you can't make me do anything."
In the OT in Isaiah 14, it says that Satan said in his heart that he would be like the most high God.. He would take God's place in the universe, or try to, and human beings according to both the Qur'an and the Bible are the ones he is leading astray in his desire to take God's place.
The Bible teaches that hell was NOT created for humans at all, but for the devil and his angels. Any human being, regardless of what faith they label themselves with who are not accepted by God under His conditions, have placed themselves under the Lordship of satan. They are therefore deserving of the fate of the devil and his angels who are usurping God and therefore committing idolatry.
Will all Christians go to hell? No my friends. But according to the Qur'an as I read it, all Muslims will for a short time. I know it says that those who die during jihaad with be saved from hell, but is there anyone else who won't taste it, until they are considered numbered amongst the righteous?
In peace
