ArchivedPeople Of The Book problem...Peace littleshepard, [22.17] Surely those who believe and those who are Jews and the Sabeans and the Christians and the Magians and those who associate (others with Allah)-- surely Allah will decide between them on the day of resurrection; surely Allah is a witness over all things. The Sabeans were a pagan people that inhabited the Arabian desert. They are mentioned in the Bible a few times as raiders and traders. The Magians are the Zoroastrians, an ancient religious group that were common in Arabia. The three Magi that visited Jesus were these people. Hud and Shu'aib were prophets mentioned in the Quran that were sent to their people. They're not mentioned in the Bible. I don't know who their people were, it seems unusual the Quran doesn't tell about prophets of the Sabeans and Magians or the founding prophet of their faith. |
