Christian/Muslim ThreadsCaner Brothers Video DiscussionHi, Jesus did not break the law. Jesus (pbuh) showed them their hypocrisy in interpreting the law. You can refer to another incident in John where he tells them that they feed their sheep. Jesus showed them the true essence of the Sabbath. If Jesus himself ordered people to follow the Law, why would he then break it? Wouldn't this show hypocrisy. The Jews misinterpreted their laws and actually made up stuff as can be found in Jeremiah. Jesus showed them where they were wrong. Even I would know that doing good things on a holy day like the Sabbath is always desirable.
First, it is not Moses' law, it is God's law. Secondly, you are not making any sense when you say that Sunday is your Sabbath. Basically, as indicated above, if you follow the commandments then you follow the Sabbath. But you say that your Sabbath is your Sunday? I totally agree with you as Islam teaches the exact same thing. However, through out the gospels, all you see Jesus criticizing the Jews for their misinterpretation of the law and their hypocrisy. Many good lessons are to be learned from him of course, for he exactly showed what the Quran have said about the Jews. Peace and God bless. |
