Reject not faith,
You and I know the same God.. we know His provision for us in every way... We know He is Almighty and yet interested in us in every little detail of our lives. Yes, He is transcendent, but we also know Him as Immanent.
We both have surrendered our lives to Him, and desire to please Him in our daily life, living a life that will honour and bring Him worship and glory.
Yet my faith and yours has one major difference...
Every Muslim I have spoken to has said the one thing they cannot be sure of is that they will go to paradise when they die.. that knowledge alone belongs to Allah Almighty.
May I ask you then, if the God we know is the provider of all our physical needs .. Is it also possible for Him to be the author and finisher.. the perfector of our faith and bring us absolute assurance of the forgiveness of our sin and the promise of eternity with Him? If He says that He came Himself to this earth to provide us with that assurance, can we not take Him at His word also?
Did not the angel tell Mary that "nothing is impossible with God" when he told her that the Holy Spirit was to come upon her and the power of the Most High God would overshadow her.. so the holy one born of her would be called the Son of God?
Is it not possible that this same child would grow up and be as the angel also told Mary... "He will be great and called the Son of the Most High God and He will save His people from their sins."
I guess what I am asking here is... Is there really something that you Muslims believe is Impossible for God to do? Would a loving God leave you wondering about your eternal destiny when so much of the Qur'an spells out in detail the horrors of hell?
Your response is welcome
Peace
Carol
