Science, Creation & EvolutionEvolution VS Bible debateWhat's up my fellow glorified baboon, Some things in the Holy Bible are to be taken literally and some things are not. It is pretty clear once proper discernment is used. For example, Christ used figurative language and even said He did, and then gave the literal interpretation. If someone then says, Christ was a cannibal because He said to eat His flesh and drink His blood, then that person is a fool because Christ was obviously using figurative language from the context and (as already mentioned), admitts that he uses figuarative language. First in the geneologies of Jesus in Luke 2, it mentions Adam. Second Christ said that the devil was a murderer from the beginning (John 8:44), referring to when he deceived Adam and Eve into a life of constant sin terminated by death. Third, Jesus in Matthew 19:4 refers to the creation of male and female when discussing marriage. Other passages from the New Testament which suggests a literal Adam and Eve>Romans 5:12-14, 1 Corinthians 15:45, 1 Timothy 2:13-14. So to say(as Javaro says) that no one can interpret the Holy Bible on the account of the creation of man is totally ludicrous. |
