I honestly don't feel that "Harry Potter" encourages witchcraft at all. I think it does, however, encourage young children to realize that they can be heroes, no matter how young they are or how inadequate they may be.
I'm a fan of the "Lord of the Rings" movies, and am currently reading "The Fellowship of the Ring." I don't feel the urge to practice sorcery. I just think it's an awesome story, and I like most of the characters. Once again, it says that people - no matter how small or timid they may be - can make a difference. Right now, I'm comparing Frodo to Christians who risk their lives for the Lord's sake and for the sake of the people they hope to save.
Also, my sister and I watched "The Chamber of Secrets" a while back, and I thought it was a good movie. It wasn't full of foul language. It didn't have naked people. No sex whatsoever.
Finally, I don't feel that the sins of humanity are encouraged by what is seen on TV. Remember, it all started with Adam and Eve, and Satan in the form of a serpent.
