ArchivedAllahs 99 names...Hi OneGod, I know you have said that you don't pray to Muhammad, but can you show me where in the Qur'an, obedience to Muhammad is not described as important to faith, as is the obedience to God. The Qur'an doesn't just say "obey Allah" ... it says also to "obey his prophet." Such obedience is mandated by Allah as He declares "...and obey Allah and His Prophet and do not turn away when you hear (him speak)." Now.. according to sources within Islam.. and my source of reading at the moment is here http://www.geocities.com/shaikhx/sunnah.html and here http://www.answering-ansar.org/answers/ ... /chap1.php
Now, I realise that the first article also suggests as do some Muslims I have talked to, that the Sunna and Hadiths are not to be held in the same way as the Qur'an.. that is they are not inspired.. but why does Allah, in the Qur'an insist your faith must not just be obedience to Allah, but that that obedience must also extend to Muhammad. Now, since the only way you can obey Muhammad is to listen to his words or copy his behaviour, through the sunna and hadiths, does this not therefore make him the link between God and Man according to Islam? Do you not learn how to live and obey God and live your faith, by observing and copying the one through whom you believe God has revealed his true Word? furthurmore, does not the second article state that Muhammed is the mediator between man and God? "Allah (swt) is the absolute Judge, but sent Muhammad (s) to act on His behalf,.. is this not being a mediator? I'm interested in your response here, as it's something we have been talking about, but within other contexts. thanks and as always Peace Carol |
