Science, Creation & EvolutionEvolution VS Bible debateI just feel the need to clear this up again. Because science isn't an end-all, be-all. People have different theories, and creationists commonly take deep left field theories and say they are mainstream in an attempt to discredit us. The aquatic ape theory states that apes lived underwater in estuaries, and suddenly gave birth to the modern human. The basis for it is almost nil, and the probability of it being true is about the same that I will suddenly be teleported to the middle of the indian ocean and grow a ZZtop beard before I finish this sentance. I have had creationists foist that hogwash on me and use it to discredit science in its entirety. It irks me that you(not you, just most of the creationists I deal with) think that all science is globally accepted. It is not, science can have theories that not everyone agrees with, this is how it can evolve into better theories while the old ones are discarded. Case in Point: Stephen Jay Gould, the most accomplished evolutionist in recent history, came up with the punctuated equilibrium theory, not everyone believes it. |
