ArchivedThe Outlaw Gavin NewsomYou are comparing apples and oranges. Christianity is not a legislated philosophy; marriage is a legislated concept as single heterosexuals live together without demanding the legal rights of married couples. These heterosexual couples deal with the same issues regarding hospital visitations, inheritance, children, etc. However, you don’t see them asking courts to give them these rights by judicial decree. No probate court has the right to violate the expressed will of the testator, it is the probates courts responsibility to enforce the last will and testimony of the deceased not void this legal document based on the prejudices of the disinherited and society. Hospital visitation rights can be handled with a legal document that gives “rights” to someone other than biological family, as can a will give rights over children to someone other than biological family except maybe the biological parent that does not have legal custody of the children. |
