Science, Creation & EvolutionCan God be proven scientifically?Deep reasoning is used in discerning what is truth. For example, since you are bringing up the topic of religion against religion, then a different strategy has to be used for Christians than if they were arguing against Athiests. What is there to fear in Buddha? He does not say he can burn the soul in hell. So why am I worried about him? He's agnostic for crying out loud. If you claim to be the truth, atleast be decisive. Polytheistic religions are obviously false. Polytheism does not threaten Monotheism, but Monotheism threatens polytheism. What have I to fear in gods who do not even attempt to warn mankind of the one true God? God on the other hand warns mankind against polytheism. Idolotry--this shouldn't even be discussed. God Himself refutes the logic of idolotry followers. A man makes something with his own hands and then worships it? That's like God Almighty Himself worshipping man. An absurd idea to say the least! The deep discerning comes in the area of Monotheistic religions. Getting rid of polytheism and idolotry is like stealing candy from a baby. But in the area of monotheism, one can easily be deceived. Take for example the three monotheistic religions--Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. All three agree that the Old Testament is the word of God. What they do not agree on is the New Testament and the Qu'ran being the word of God. But when using basic logic, one can clearly see that Christianity is the true religion of the day. Judaism was practiced in the Old Testament and was for the Jews. God Himself in Jeremiah says there will be a New Covenant in the future and the law will dwell in the hearts of man all over the world. There are the prophecies of Christ in the Old Testament which were fulfilled in the New Testament. The first prophecy on Christ is in Genesis. People can be so spiritually blind that they ignore these prophecies. As of today, Judaism followers are still waiting for the Messiah  . In the gospels it forewarns false revelations to come in the future. That's where Islam comes in. Hundreds of years before Mohammed was born, Paul warns that even if an angel was to preach a different gospel, let him be accursed. Then all of a sudden Mohammed receives a revelation from the "angel" Gabriel, changing what was revealed by the gospels before. Not to mention, Islam claims to be the truth by saying it is the newest revelation. But what about the Cults such as Mormonism and Jehova Witnesses? They are newer than Islam, but they are not the truth. Mormons and JW's by the way are not Christians. They do not adhere to fundamental Christian teachings which can be backed up by prophetic and archaeological evidence, but rather follow the teachings originated from their false prophets. Something also forewarned in the Bible. Christianity out of all the world's religions not only has prophetic evidence, but also has the most archaeological evidence compared to other religions. The Holy Bible is the number 1 selling book in history. Surely God wants people to be without excuse. He blesses Christianity more than any other religion. As for the denominations in Christianity, every religion has denominations, so this does not make Christianity less true than other beliefs. Also, Christianity contains fundamentals which are vital to salvation and all Christians agree on. We might disagree on secondary issues that do not affect our salvation, but in that situation, iron sharpens iron. All you have to do to be Christian is be a desciple of Christ and follow His teachings from the Holy Bible, which (through its evidences) is proven to be Divine rather than human in origin. Finally, Christ said>That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. [John 3:6-8]. Without getting into deep reasoning, that is how people are going to be saved in the general sense. How can you tell if someone is born of the Spirit? If someone argues against Christianity and says Christ supported cannibalism because He said to eat of His flesh and drink of His blood, that's how you can tell they are born of the flesh and not of the Spirit. Christ many times uses figurative language and even admitted to His desciples that He uses figurative language, which leaves the skeptic of the Bible without excuse when saying "who can interpret it?" The spiritually blind cannot discern what Christ means, when it is obvious from the context. |
