Crikey, what a thread, took some time to read it all! Firstly I'd like to thank Jovaro for some very well written, well researched posts. His opponents however, seem a tad willing to just cite, in some cases, a load of bull, take the 2nd law argument. Any high school physicist could tell you what a baseless point it makes against the expansion of the universe. Madness. And those websites about stars not forming. Come on. What do they teach you in your schools, where ever you live?
He's a teaser for you.. I'm actually interested if there is a biblical explanation for it. I'm not taking the michael, i'm just keen to hear some responses.
Who did Cain marry and procreate with?
Hopefully, not his mother, the bible seems against the notion, [1 Corinthians 5 vs 1 and 2]
And surely not his sister? Leviticus forbids it of course.
I'd also like to note there seems very little room for people who advocate some of the science behind evolution whilst still believing in a creator God. I'm such a Christian. The majority of modern science doesn't rule out God, it seeks to understand him. Take some of the greatest scientific minds ever. Newton, Einstein, Hawking. All believe/d in a higher power.
I'd like to finish with a quote from Newton himself, reminding us how science shold always remain humble when faced with the wonder, beauty and incredible complexity of God's creation.
"I do not know what I may appear to the world, but to myself I seem to have been only a boy playing on the sea-shore, and diverting myself in now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me."
