The U.S. does not have a state government as per our Consitution. This country was founded by people seeking religious freedom, however, this does not make the U.S. a Christian nation even though the largest percentage of American's claim to be Christians.
As to apostasy, that is true of Christiandom worldwide, not just in the US. No President Bush did not say God told him to attack Al Queda or Iraq. If you are going to point fingers at apostate Christians you can include Senator Kennedy and all the Democrats who profess to be Christian and support gay marriages and gay unions. You can also include any business man who is a professed Christian and then treats his employees like slaves, and tells lies that result in failures like Enron, WorldCom, and other businesses around the country. You can include the French, Spanish, Canadian, and other Christian nations that support Islam nations for oil and business profit.
The war on terror is a governmental decision that is not for you to judge. If you have been watching the news American soldiers and American money are rebuilding the infastructure of Iraq only to be bombed and attacked by Saddam's supporters. If you are going to point fingers then point them at the men in the world that finance suicide bombers, keep their populations in abject poverty and bank their wealth in Switzerland.
If I was going to point fingers at any religion causing major problems in this world it would be Islam and the Iman's that incite riots, suicide bombers, and hide when the going gets tuff. The Iraqi Iman's are complaining about the U.S. and seem to forget they now have the right to complain only because of the U.S.
Why not ask Germany, Japan, and the other countries why they have requested U.S. military presence inside their borders. We may have military in 130 nations, but how much do we pay for the right to help protect these nations? We pay the military, pump money into local economies, and our presence stops some military insurgance from reeking havok.
You seem to have ignored the Scriptures I quoted. However, God will take matters into His own hands at the appropriate time. So let God worry about His creation.
