A story about demonic possession
A group of four men (two teenagers, one elder, and the church's pastor) traveled to India to minister to the people. They were in that country for a month, and they returned last week. During this morning's church service, Pastor Hunt was talking about the group's encounter with a demonically possessed woman. Don't ask me what her name is, because I can't remember. Anyway, the group was ministering to the people, when the woman captured Pastor Hunt's attention. He asked what was wrong with her, and the people told him that the woman had been possessed. She repeated everything the Christian men said, so they figured that they'd have her repeat a prayer of salvation.
Guess what happened?
She could say every word in that prayer, but she was unable to say Jesus' name.
Pastor Hunt felt that something else was amiss. The woman was wearing metal bracelets around her wrists and ankles, and he had a strong feeling that these bracelets were doing something to the woman. So, Pastor Hunt asked the people what was up with the bracelets. They told him that they had taken the woman to a witch doctor, who had put the bracelets on the woman and cursed them, in the hopes of driving out the demon(s).
Of course, Pastor Hunt realized that those bracelets had to come off, so he and the Elder used pliers. (Carefully, I should add, because the woman was very thin. Pastor Hunt estimated that her weight was around 60 pounds.) Eventually, they were able to get those bracelets off of the woman, and she was able to complete the prayer of salvation. The demon(s) was/were driven out, the woman converted to Christianity, and now, it seems as though she's going to minister to the people!!
This story is 100% factual. I have no reason to believe that Pastor Hunt made this up. Demons do exist, and only the power of the Lord (when channeled through His disciples) can drive them out.
