ArchivedScience And Prophecies In The Holy Quran.Hi Scorp Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day [Joshua 10:12-13] Might be interesting to note that Ayat says "sun stood still in the midst of heaven" ... The sun doesn't stand, it's already fix regarding the earth. the earth's movement makes it seem this way. Correct me if im wrong! Is this a scientific error? No if we considered that the sun stood still from Johua PERSPECTIVE. The Qur'anic verses are talking from Zul-Qarnain's PERSPECTIVE of where the sun set/rose. Zul-Qarnain found the sun setting in a murky spring, and Zul Qarnain found the sun rising on a certain people. The key here is that Zul Qarnain found the sun setting and rising. The verse is very explicite in showing that the setting of the sun and the rising are from Zul Qarnain's PERSPECTIVE. Thx Alexei |
