Oh, I am so frustated at times at the limitations of the internet chat
Let me try to explain once more, and then put the subject to rest..
firstly and foremostly.. we must only preach Christ and Him crucified.. everything else is foolish and idle chat.
We can however be creative in how we do that, and using examples from history is a good way to gain people's attention.
When we do use examples, especially from other religions, we need to be mindful of what they might throw back at us..
when it comes to discussion on holy wars.. or so called holy wars, they will always raise the issue of the crusades.
the reason I came to discuss this in the outreach forum, was to share another strategy that could be used to prevent this happening and losing the focus in the original purpose in the posting of the thread,
Instead of waiting for them to raise the issue of the crusades.. you raise it and give the truth and not the opportunity for non truth.. and then lead the discussion back to the love of god and His desire to see all men every where be saved.
But, I will bow out now and hope that no one was offended by my comments and well.. see you all around the forum
Just a reminder, I wont be around much after this coming Friday for a few weeks.
I will look forward to seeing you all soon when I return or as often as possible till then (feb 16th I return)
Carol
