ArchivedIslamic Claims Of Moses Prophecying Mohammed, Debunked...OneGod: Never compare the Bible and Hebrew with other languages ... Hebrew is Gods language and when he says the word Brethren in the Bible, he talks about the Israelites ... You might want to hold back that thought before you make a final decision, im working on a lovely new thread that will show you Mohammed did not do any miracles. Hold onto your seatbelt. We'll soon see wether he was a False prophet or the greatest prophet. Hold that thought for now though, it will be wise. =================== More Debunking ================= The first objection raised against this prophecy having been fulfilled in Jesus was that Jesus was not a lawgiver. Muslims who claim this only show their own lack of understanding of the New Testament, as shown in John 13:34 and Galatians 6:2: A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love another. Bear one another’s burdens, and thus fulfill the law of Christ The next objection to this prophecy having been fulfilled in Jesus was that "brethren" must refer to the Ishmaelites, not to the Israelites themselves. This argument can easily be refuted by simply looking at how the term "brethren" is used in the Bible. One cogent example is found in Deuteronomy 17:15. Moses instructs the Israelites: "You shall surely set a king over you whom the Lord your God chooses; one from among your BRETHREN you shall set as king over you; you may NOT set a foreigner over you, who is not your brother." Firstly ... The Israelites never appointed a foreigner as king over them, More specifically, was an Ishmaelite ever appointed king over Israel? Of course not! To choose a king "from among your brethren" refers to choosing someone from one of the 12 tribes of Israel. Likewise, the prophet spoken of in Deuteronomy 18 was to be an Israelite ... Jesus. The final objection raised against Jesus’ fulfilling these verses is that Christians supposedly only view Jesus as the Sun of God, not as a prophet. Once again we see that the Muslim too often has little familiarity with the New Testament. Jesus Himself, prophesying His impending death, said that He must continue His journey to Jerusalem "for it cannot be that a prophet should perish outside of Jerusalem" (Luke 13:33) ========= Comparison Between Moses and Mohammed ========= 1. If Mohammed was Illiterate as virtually all Muslims assert to everyone, then Moses was NOT like Mohammed because Moses "was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians" (Acts 7:22) 2. Mohammed is said to have received his "revelation" from the "Angel" Gabriel ... Moses Received the Law DIRECTLY From God ... In Christianity there are no barriers between God and man because of Jesus's sacrifice 2,000 years ago my friend, this is why the Temple's veil was TORN apart to signify that there is to be no mediator between man and God and that Jesus has officially paid the penalty of Sin (death ... "...for the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is life eternal") ... If Allah is real why has he never revealed himself openly? What is he hiding? God even though he is Holy and Pure managed to humble himself into the form of a man and do MIRACLES and showed himself in the New Testament, Why has Allah never done this? What assurance do you even have that Allah exists and is not just a figment of your imagination? Hmmm? 3. Muhammad performed NO signs OR miracles to verify and Authenticate his calling and prophethood, yet Moses performed MANY signs and MIRACLES. 4. Also, Muhammad was Arabic, while Moses was of Jewish origin. Also ... When Moses died, He appeared on the mount of Transfiguration, what happened to Mohammed? If he was the greatest prophet why did Allah not show him anywhere? Hmmmm? Something to think about dont you think? You guys dont seem very intellectual with all do respect. Keep reading i urge you. Although Jesus was different than Moses in someways obviously (Because he was God) he was Like him in many ways ... Examples ... ==================== Moses and Jesus ================ Moses Jesus Pharaoh orders Jewish male babies killed, fearful that the Hebrew slaves will revolt and throw off his authority. (Exodus 1:8-16) Herod orders Jewish male babies killed, fearful that the Messiah will eventually lead a revolt that will threaten his authority. (Matthew 2:1-16) Pharoah is powerless to take the life of God's chosen, Moses, who will eventually free his people from Egyptian bondage. (Exodus 1:17) Herod is powerless to take the life of God's chosen, Jesus, who will eventually free His people from the bondage of sin. (Matthew 2:19-21) Moses, the son of oppressed people, grows up as royalty in Egypt. (Exodus 2:1-10) Jesus, the King of Kings, grows up as the son of oppressed people, spending part of His youth in Egypt. (Matthew, Luke) Moses works as a shepherd before leading the Israelites out of Egypt. (Exodus 3:1) Jesus describes Himself as "the good shepherd." (John 10:11,14) Moses is called upon to challenge the authority of Pharaoh, who refuses to recognize the power of God despite many miracles. (Exodus 5-11) Jesus is called upon to challenge the religious authorities of His day, most of whom refuse to recognize the power of God despite many miracles. (John 10:32) God spares the firstborn sons of Israel because of the blood of the lamb painted on their doorposts and lintels. (Exodus 12:12-13) God does not spare His own Son, but sends Him to shed His blood on a wooden cross. (John 3:16, Ephesians 1:7, Colossians 1:14, Hebrews 9:12) The death of Egypt's sons causes Pharaoh to release his hold on God's chosen people. (Exodus 12:29-31) Jesus' death causes sin to lose its grip on those who receive His sacrifice as the unique atonement for sin. (Romans 8:2) God commands the children of Israel to remember how He redeemed them from slavery by celebrating Passover. (Exodus 12:14-21) As Jesus celebrated Passover with His disciples, He instructed them to use the unleavened bread and the cup as reminders of the redemption He was about to accomplish. (Luke 22:19) From http://www.jfjonline.org/pub/newsletter ... sjesus.htm ==================== Conclusion ==================== Peter made the point that JESUS was talked about by Moses when he proclaimed the Gospel to the Jews in those early days of Christian history (Acts 3:18-23). Not Mohammed. Also Like i said .. Mohammed performed NO Miracles ... Dont worry, keep waiting, i will show you from your own scriptures, Muslims love to make claims that the Bible is corrupt, so i'll prepare articles from the Quran to make my points even clearer. To suggest that Mohammed is the “prophet” foretold in Deuteronomy 18 contradicts the Quran, which declares that the “Prophethood and Revelation” was to come through the “progeny” of Isaac and Jacob – not Ishmael (Sura 29:27). ============ Who Are The Brethren Of Deu 18:15 =========== In Hebrew, the word "a-hey-hem" Is translated best as Brethren ... Deu 18:18 - "I will raise up a prophet from among their brethren like you..." The prophecy was given through the prophet Moses, who was the leader of the sons of Israel during the time of the Exodus from ancient Egypt. The word "their" refers to the sons of Israel, the Israelites, not the Ishmaelites. Lets get that fact straight. Quote from http://www.messiahtruth.com/islam18.html Just a chapter back, in Deuteronomy 17, we find a similar phrase, but the voice is different. This time Moses is delivering a message from God directly to the Israelites, speaking to the Israelites as a single group, instead of us hearing what God says to Moses. Deuteronomy 17:15 You shall put (appoint) upon yourself a king that God will pick him; from amongst your brethren you shall appoint a king; you will not be able to give upon yourself a foreign man that is not your brother. This verse, just a chapter behind the verse about the prophet is quite explicit. It uses the phrase "amongst (their/your) brethren" and then clarifies that a foreigner, which is definitely a non-Israelite, is not the Israelite's brother. For further explicitness of the term foreigner, let's turn to Exodus 12. Exodus 12:43 And God said to Moses and Aaron: This is the ordinance of the Passover offering, every son of a foreigner shall not eat of it. Kind Regards, Scorpion. |
