Muslim..Out ReachUsing Culture and issues to bring people to ChristAlpha, If you read my post, you will see I have never justified the actions of Muhammed. What I said was, that this is not an issue that can just be discussed in condemnation. It must be understood culturally, so that the sin can then be pointed out. Think of Hosea.. now God told Hosea to go marry an adulterous woman. In the posts to the muslims on sin, I have been asking them "does God make you do evil". Now, it would be very easy for them to say that the command of God to Hosea, actually goes against his own command to keep away from adulterous women. Yet, we all know, that the command was given for a reason. Muslims are told to accept and not question their faith under any circumstances. Part of the way we must deal with them, is not to accuse, but to show them from within islam, why their arguments, or rather the arguments of the Iman and other muslim theologians are not right. If they see a controversial subject, they do not question it, because Islam teaches them to blindly accept the hadith, even if is obviously not consistent with the Qur'anic teaching. We, on the other hand, when reading a controversial subject like Hosea was to take an adulterous wife, immmediately ask the question why, as this is not only a scriptural command, but also very much part of our cultural way of doing things. We are taking the Muslims, from the worship of an unknown god, to that of knowing the one true God. Missionaries around the world have spent and are spending years trying to do what we do every day in these forums. Satan is a counterfeiter and in Islam, he has the perfect religious counterfeit to Christianity. You will notice in my last post, I threw the question back at Lady Fatima, "who says that the prophets were sinless"? I soon will be taking that thought furthur and asking her to justify more things. Since when is this compromising truth? Compromising truth, is to not speak the truth. How you speak that truth is up to you. Some here have a direct way of speaking and for some of our visitors and regular posters, that is the type of evangelism they need. Others here. like me, believe in relational evangelism. Omega quite correctly pointed out that we are the body of christ in this place. The hand does things different to the foot, but is still part of the body, and contributes to the purpose and mission of the body. Because my approach to evangelism in not yours, does not mean we are both not working towards the same goal. I would hope, I have been around here long enough now, for you to know that my credibility is beyond dispute. I am in private discussions with many from this board, and discussing issues you have no idea about, but all pointing them to their need for Christ. It saddens me deeply you would think I don't speak truth, just because I refuse to do it the way some of you others feel comfortable in doing. I hope you understand my view a little more now and that we can maintain the unity of this forum. God bless you all. Always your sister in Christ Carol |
