ArchivedTawhid-monotheismI thankyou once again OneGod for your time and patience in answering my many questions Now, furthur reading has shown this So, the understanding in Islam appears to me, to be that our actions are totally our own actions and we are the natural cause of them and they are under our control, however, for some reason, they are also compelled on us by Allah and are subject to His power, since even our "evil" deeds gves them existance and has complete authority over us. So, whilst in Christianity, we would agree with you, that if you completely repent of your sins and throw yourself on the mercy of God, you will be forgiven, the concept of God actually causing us to do those sins in the first place can not be reconciled with this verse in Job 34:10-12 So listen to me you men of understanding, Far be it from God to do evil. from the Almighty to do wrong. He repays a man for what He has done, He brings upon him what his conduct deserves. It is unthinkable that God should do wrong. that the Almighty should pervert Justice." OneGod, I have asked the same question you asked me of myself many times. I can only reply, that God didnot destroy them without warning. He warned and warned and warned them. God does act justly in justice, but he always warns first. And please remember, that the One who did require the death of those who would caused dishonour to come to the Name which is above everyname.. also demanded that His own people keep His name holy, and when they didnot, they were subject to the same judgements. God is no respector of persons. He said "all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God." "None are righteous, no not one". The only way God would not have been just, would have been if he had not also required the same standards from those who said they were His own people, as the rest of the nations around about them. Today, He still requires that same standard upheld, for it's His Holy Name, that is profaned amongst the Nations, when those who declare His name, are not "Holy as He is Holy". Please tell me how your own feelings on those verses. I will return soon Peace and thanks Carol |
