Christian/Muslim ThreadsSin and its forgivenessAgain, I need some help understanding please .. I have a couple of other questions coming later. I need them in separate topics so I can follow up on your replies. 1. In light of this, does Islam itself offer the forgiveness of sins.. since the act of converting seems to bring forgiveness. 2. A common complaint thrown at Christians is that they continue sinning, whilst saying that "they are saved from their sins". Is there a difference between Christians admitting that they desperately want to "be Holy" in their actions and thoughts like God (ie not continue sinning), and the comment here that Muslims continue to do good and bad deeds after conversion to Islam which make them accountable on Judgement Day. 3. I am assuming that one who does not submit to Islam is without hope on Judgement Day.. but after conversion, there remains a sense of uncertainty, for although you are in a postion now where you can choose whether to be "good" enough for paradise.. your good deeds still need to out weigh your bad deeds and there is still an element of "as Allah wills" about your salvation. I'd appreciate any comments or replies or explanations about these questions from our Muslim friends please? Thankyou Carol |
