ArchivedMary, Jesus and Muhammed in the QuranPeace Light, The reading between the lines is what is called the tafsir of the Quran. That's because he didn't. Pure and simple The reason that in the prophets' cases that word dhanbi is translated as fault is that it is well known that none of the prophets, without exception, committed any acts of sin. However, in the case of Firown and others like him, the word is translated as a sin and for good reason. First the crimes that is mentioned in the Quran are not mere human errors but great sins like homosexuality, rejection of revelations, associating partners with God and so on... So one has to be careful when translating the Quran to use the correct words in their correct verses! No this is not mentioned in the Quran. However, just because God did not mention it, does not mean it did not occur. There are many other prophets in the Quran that were not commanded to ask for forgiveness, but that doesn't mean that they did not seek forgiveness for their minor errors! Take the example of Ismael. Allah does not say that he asked for forgiveness, but does that mean he did not ask for forgiveness? Also his minor errors are not mentioned, does that then mean he did not commit any errors? Ofcourse not to both cases! It's impossible to say that he didn't, for he was only a human being and was bound to make errors of misjudgement! You're trying to single out Jesus, and raise him above the status of a messenger, but Allah clearly said in the Quran: "And they say: The Most Gracious (Allah) has begotten a son. Indeed you have brought forth a terrible evil thing and whereby the heavens are almost torn, and the earth is split asunder, and the mountains fall in ruins, that they ascribe a son to the Most Gracious (Allah). But it is not suitable for the Most Gracious that He should beget a son. There is none in the heavens and the earth but comes unto the Most Gracious as a servant" (19:88-93) "O people of the Book! Do not exaggerate in your religion nor utter anything concerning God except the Truth. The Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, was only a messenger of God, and His word which He conveyed to Mary, and a spirit from Him. So believe in God and His messengers, and do not say “Three” - Stop! (it is) better for you! - God is only One God, It is far removed from His transcendent majesty that He should have a son. His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And God is enough as Defender. The Messiah will never scorn to be a slave to God nor will the favored angels. Whoever scorns His service and is proud, all such will He assemble to Him; then as for those who believed and did good works, to them He will pay their wages in full, adding to them of His bounty; and as for those who were scornful and proud, them will He punish with a painful doom; and they will not find for them, against God, any protecting friend or helper."(4:171-173) All the good that I have said is from God Almighty, and all the mistakes are from me! Peace and Blessings be to the Believers |
