ArchivedMary, Jesus and Muhammed in the QuranPeace Light, The Quran says no such thing. To understand the ayat, one needs to understand the situation that the Ayat was revealed at. The mistakes that Muhammad made was a heavy burden on him and he thought at many times that they were sins and that God would punish him for it. It is this worry and grief that lead to the revealation of this ayats. It was due to his own belief that these are sins, but to God these are not sins and hence the hadith and the ayat that deal with this topic! Exactly Muhammad was just a man. This is to make sure that people did not worship him after he died like what was done to Jesus Christ! All Prophets and Muslims alike are commanded to ask for forgiveness even if they do not think they committed a mistake or a sin. This is a sign for the believers. Also Jesus, when the judgement comes will be worried because those who came after him took him as God. But ofcourse this is no fault of his, but at the same time he will still be worried. Peace and Blessings be to the Believers |
