ArchivedWhy does it make sense to end this way?Peace OneGOD, I'm just going to touch on this briefly so you can have a basic understanding. Either Carol or whomever will go more in depth with you. Adam and Eve were once completely perfect, okay. They never had one impure thought or anything, they were very pure and sinless. Nonetheless, God tested their loyalty to Him by placing two trees in the middle of Eden that produced voluptuous fruits. One of these was the Tree of Life that they had permission to eat of. The other was the tree of forbidden fruit. God specifically told Adam and Eve not to eat the fruit of this tree. One day Satan came to Eve in the form of a serpent and tempted her to eat the forbidden fruit. She fell for the temptation and Adam also did, he ate the fruit also. Now they rebelled against God, so God punished them by expelling them from Eden--expelling them from Perfection since they were no longer perfect. No we bear the sin of Adam, called original sin. Original sin this this natural state of not being right with God. Now little children are innocent because their minds haven't developed enough to make decisions between right and wrong. However, when we start thinking and acting on our own, we are rebellious against God and we sin. We all have sinned, and this is proof of original sin. If there was no original sin, then we would be right with God, so we would not sin and there would be no violence, hatred, lust, greed, etc in our world. Now back in the ancient days in Israel, the Jews made animal sacrifices for the temporary atonement of their sins as prescribed by the Law. Now it was in God's Will that one day His Son, Jesus Christ, would come and bring salvation to the ends of the earth by making Himself a sacrifice for our sins. Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God, the permanent atonement for our sins. No one can earn their way to heaven on their own works, but only by God's grace. No matter how good man can be, he is still fundementally flawed, he still sins. We are like filthy rags to God, so unclean and imperfect. However, through Jesus Christ we are cleansed of our sins. Through Him we conquer original sin, and we are made right with God again when we accept Jesus Christ's sacrifice. Now God could have just said a word, and all would have been done and Jesus wouldn't have to of suffered, but God isn't cheap about His love for us. Jesus willingly suffered for us because this is how much God loved us. He bought off our sins through the sacrifice of the pure and sinless Jesus Christ who bore all of these sins. Now there is a catch for salvation and ultimate freedom from sin, you must completely submit yourself to God and His Will. This means you don't ask questions like "well, why would God want to do that" or "I don't think so, that doesn't make sense" You accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour and you have accepted the Father who willed Jesus to suffer for us, and the Spirit who will remain with you always. You give yourself fully to God who you can never understand or comprehend and questioning His will is reminescent of rebellion, doubting God. Adam and Eve never asked about anything from God, they follwed Him like little children following their Father, so this is how we are to be. Except Satan will always pry at you to continue sinning, but now you have the benefit of the doubt, unlike Adam and Ever who never percieved of the terrible outcomes of their fatal descision. |
