ArchivedThe Truth About IslamI strongly disagree, seeing as how it is the desciples of Jesus who wrote the gospels and his desciples were Jews, therefore if we have the original Hebrew version (which we do), it is enough. You know what I smell? I smell a Muslim trying to make two Christian brothers get into an argument. It will be hard for me (and any other human being/Christian) to "turn the other cheek." But it is what our Lord says, and it is the right thing to do. Unfortunately, we being sinful creatures, do not always do the right thing. When the Qu'ran makes statements to defend ones self, a Muslim would not argue that it is not turning the other cheek. So how are we taking the Qu'ran verse out of context when other Muslims are agreeing with us? Many Muslims believe it is foolish to turn the other cheek and if someone is harassing them against their will, they will retaliate. Ask oneGOD and any other Muslim on this forum if you think I am lying. On the other hand, when Jesus said, "i came not to bring peace but bring the sword," this in no way means that you should not turn the other cheek. The Jews thought when the Messiah came, there will be peace for the Jews on the earth. They did not know the Messiah was going to preach a gospel which speaks of the future kingdom of God in the last days. preaching the gospel brings violence and tribulation on the earth, people are offended. So Jesus is basically saying, I did not come to bring peace on the earth at this time right now, but a gospel which may cost you your life if you follow me. Yes Jesus said this. You said Muhammed said something similar? What did he say that was similar and what did he mean by it? |
