Today, the poo-poo hit the fan. My sister has been taking care of my grandmother for three days now, and my grandfather has been - pardon my language - a bastard. He's been mean and rude to my sister. He constantly belittles her, telling her that she's been lazy, and lecturing her on how to do even the simplest of tasks.
Anyway, my parents found out about his latest tirade, and my sister's coming home. It looks like Grandma is going to a care facility, and my parents, sister, and yours truly are going to distance ourselves from Grandpa. It doesn't look as though anyone is going to apologize. I'm caught in the middle, because I know my parents and sister have every right to be angry, but as mean as Grandpa is, he's my family, too. And it's going to be weird not seeing the grandparents on holidays and birthdays!
I don't know what we should do. Should we just cut ourselves off from my grandpa? Because my father certainly doesn't need this stress. We're caught between a rock and a hard place!
