lies have colors????
well.... a lie is a lie is a lie no matter what color it is.....
most of the situations you mentioned have to do with convenience or for our own benefit, like to save a few bucks.
although i'm sure there are worse examples i've shown to my children this is really one that can be avoided. my husband doing this is just not something that i could EVER see him doing so that's not even a relate-able issue for me. i know if i were to do it he'd definitely call me on it.
i've had people at restaurants or movies assume that one of the kids was young enough to qualify for free and even after i've told them that's not the case they still didn't charge for it. HEY I TRIED!!!
even tho it's a little thing it just sets a very bad example for the kids...makes them think that some lies are ok when in fact they aren't...so what do they think when i crawl on them for one of those "little lies"? it only teaches them that there is a double standard...it's ok for me to tell the little ones but not for them.....
earlier this week i was workin on the shower in the bathroom and had to replace a part. on the shelf at home depot all the things were mixed up hangin in the wrong place and the part i was getting i thought was 11.96 but when i checked out i had several other items and thought my total was less than i'd figured it'd be. i didn't look at the receipt til i got home and saw that it had rung up for 1.96 instead of 11.96. none of those parts were THAT cheap. it was late and i REALLY needed that shower so i put it off. i still haven't gone back cause i just haven't .....but every time i get in the shower now i'm reminded of it....nobody but me and God knows about it...and now YOU....so technically i could "get away with it" but it has bothered me....i suppose i should've taken care of that huh?
