ArchivedHow could you spread so much hate about gays?I do not disagree with any of this information, in fact I agree with the fact that a homosexual orientation is not chosen. However, a person who developed their orientation due to environmental reasons can change their orientation; and many people have. As to those who have a homosexual orientation because of hormonal reasons can choose not to act on their orientation. So your information is neither new to me nor does it affect my stance on homosexual sex being sin. All people with a gay orientation develop that orientation at a young age however, some choose to deny it, get married, destroy their lives and the lives of their wives and children by abandoning their marriages. I realized I had different desires than other boys when I was 12 or 13; seldom dated girls and have been single my whole life. The APA's stance is only partially true. Sexual orientation can be changed. I for one have never seen a mental health professional seeking help in changing my sexual orientation and usually advise those seeking information to avoid "mental health professionals" who will not help them achieve their personal goals. This is a quote from an email I received from a gay male looking for real support in changing his sexual orientation. He has made a decision, not because of the hateful rhetoric you claim we are spreading but because of gay culture itself. This man understands the real issue and it has absolutely nothing to do with acceptance from religions; it is everything to do with self-acceptance. One thing I tell all men who contact me for information is that unless they can love themselves for who they are their struggle for change will be long, hard, even next to impossible. Changing your sexual orientation is so much more than a cosmetic shift in sexual objects. Angelbaby you will never change or alter in any way my personal faith or the fact that I have changed my orientation and will continue to encourage those who find gay life unhappy, lonely, miserable, unstable, etc. who want to change. If you are gay and happy with your life, then go live your life and let those who seek transformation because of their interpretation of the Bible alone. If you really love them you won't deny them the right to seek information and will support them in their struggles if for no other reason than it is their choice. My understanding of the Bible is that God loves all human beings, however God hates disobedience and will judge those who disobey His perfect will. When the Bible states God hates people it is a way of stating He will judge their actions and their choices. Even human courts judge people based on their actions regardless of who they are. Stealing, murder, perjury, assault are all criminal offenses that land loving, compassionate people in prison separating them from the fellowship of mankind. |
