ArchivedHow could you spread so much hate about gays?It is also very easy to find other passages in a book to justify your personal interpretation. As people with opposing views do the same thing on both sides but still wind up with opposing views. For instance this is another interpretation someone can do: "You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone." (James 2:24) It uses the word faith in general there are no additions. If it were your interpretation it would have stated, not only being faithful by believing. It only says faith here and sticks faith and what he does as two different things. When he says I will show you my faith by my works. It is in context with all of the times he distinguished faith and deeds as two different things. So you can pull that two different ways. Your view and the view that where he says, 22 you see that his faith and his actions were working together and his faith was made complete by what he did. Which does distiunguish them as two different things but when working together they are both made complete. That is what he meant when he said I will show you my faith by my works. Which one is which is an assumption. It depends onthe bias of the Christian which interpretation they pick. Another thing is when dealing with interpretations of really old books, if you are lucky and without bias, you only can find the most logical interpretation. You can't go inside the mind of the person that wrote it unless you are a really good psychic. Know one knows if they thinking logically or not. That is where another assumption is made and assumptions are not facts. |
