Archived7th century timelineJesus' time had not come. There were times when the Jews would attempt to stone Jesus, and Jesus would escape. And there were times when Jesus would not be in the presence of the Pharisees because he knew they wanted to kill him. Jesus only avoided the Pharisees and those who opposed him because it wasn't his time, not because he was trying to aviod the cross in general. John 7:30- Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come. John 8:20- These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come. Luke 9:51-And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem, and sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him. Matthew 16:21-From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. John 5:25-Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. John 12:27- Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour. What cause? To die on the cross for our sins. |
