sum·ma·ry: adj. Presenting the substance in a condensed form; concise: a summary review.
Verse 39: Therefore, brethren, desire earnestly to prophecy, and do not forbid to speak in tongues.
Verse 40: But all things must be done properly and in an orderly manner.
I see in these verses mention of tongues but not women speaking, and that would have been a huge thing for any letter to say and it would not have been fitting to say it in two verse and not even mentioned in the summery. That is like the Doctor writing his whole examination report on how he discovered that you have diabetes but only writing a sentence on his discovery of your cancer.
I guess everyone can interpret this how they see fit just as many other parts of the Bible. That is fine it is what adds distinction through out the world.
You probably feel sorry for me because you feel that I do not have faith that the Bible is infallible, just as I feel sorry that you cannot conceive that imperfect men may have tampered with the Bible for material gains of wealth and power. Either way we could go back and fourth debating for weeks whether this book has been messed with or not.
One parting concept I would like to leave in you minds though is that women have had power all through time even in the Bible so it seems odd to me that after all that it would be taken away in the new testament. After all Jesus was "The Prince of Peace" right, so why take away a woman’s free will and give her to a man to control.
Genesis 1:26-30 is written before Eve was created yet it clearly states that Man was made male and female and as a whole had power over every living thing. Also women was made from man God could have made her from soil but he didn't he made her from man meaning to me that she is the same as he.
I am not trying to trash your opinion. But the main point I am arguing is your belief that these writings might have been tampered. You based these "tamperings" on YOUR interpretation on a certain chapter rather than solid evidence. But, if that is your opinion then you have your reward.
Wow, if you are saying here what it seems that you are (reward meaning hell) then that is truly a sad thing, a person who claims to be of God and yet rejoices in the idea of others going to hell. That is not very mature and certainly not godly. No true follower of Christ or just plain good person would wish that on anyone. Also the Bible even says that no man would wish this on his brother. So do you think the Bible is wrong on this or do you just not read your own religious text?
