ArchivedI just dont believe that men have authority over womenPlease while quoting me quote correctly I said verse 39 this is a big difference because verse 39 says: Therefore, brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak in tongues. So you see it does sum up the meaning of the reast of the chapter but the part about women keeping silent is not in there. hmmmm.... I can see why you might say verse 33 and 34 do coraspond, on first glans it might seem so, but is you read this letter and leave out verses 34 and 35 the letter flows more smoothly. Paul was a man who had an education his writtings reflect that. When another person adds something in it is not always easy to make it fit perfectly. Further more on such a controversail topic I find it hard to believe that a man of God would add in as a last thought two verses on the topic. This letter rants about speaking in tongues but the only other topic mentioned has two very small verses pertaining to it. I'm sure Paul wouldn't be frightened to make his letter a bit lengthier to expound upon these verses and the importance of them. We know that he explains in this letter and others why things are important and their consiquences. |
