Very Interesting
Hmm, Very interesting point, this really blows everything apart! But I caution myself to swallow this.
I am still considering what you've said, but one problem I noticed. surely prophets can die in other countries. I'm sure there are multitudes of christians who could be called prophets to other nations, plus these christians have been more severely persecuted in Moslem countries, much more so than in Israel. Think of all the christians sent to areas of the world that are extremely Intolerant to christians, actually Jesus says to one of the 7 churches that "I know where you live - where Satan has his throne..." - this is not Israel, these are places like Strict Moslem countries, places dominated by religions totally opposed to Christian and Jewish beliefs.
Also what about World War 2 - its obvious Hitler was trying to kill Jews and this was evil and God was trying to save His people then.
Plus what about the great city of Babylon being stated as being mourned over by merchants and being full of excessive luxuries. About how the worlds merchants grew weathly from her, Israel does not fit this description, Israel has a small economy, hardly any merchants would care if it was destroyed. Well I mean compare it to if the whole of New York was destroyed - I think merchants would weep and mourn a whole lot more over New York than Jerusalem.
Also what about whats happening right now in the world - Iraq has been more or less taken over by the US - I would never have believed something like this could happen when I was young - I think this is significant as Iraq is also the same place as the literal old Babylon used to be.
Anyway I'm still thinking over what you said - you could have a point there, thanks for posting mudturkle. Maybe you are right, it does make sense in many ways, just hard for me to swallow.
One thing I do concede is John was astonished at the identity of the Woman, this would also make sense if it was Jerusalem.
Will have to think this over and read some more.
I still leen towards Iraq and whats happening there to being the Babylon as described in revelation - I agree with preecha. Its amazing all the money pumping into Iraq right now. I mean. I heard a discussion on foxnews about it how the US is going to pump $87 billion into Iraq - WHY SO MUCH MONEY? All thats required I heard is about 20 billion to get basic public services like Electricity and Water, roads etc. But the US is spending heaps over there - part of the $87 billion is going into setting up an fully automated and electronic postal service - I mean serious what's going on here? They're throwing money at Iraq.
Plus its clear france and Germany and the UN want to control Iraq, seems everyone has their eyes on getting some of Iraq at the moment. I still can't fathom why the US chose to invade Iraq - I would never have dreamed something like this would have ever happened when I was younger. What's the real reason for it? Of all the countires in the world - why so much attention and desire to move into Iraq? Seems the US is IRAQ crazy and this fits Bible prophecy too. Iraq's Bagdad could become a pretty wealthly significant city. Also look at UAE (United Arab Emirates) its a westernised Arab country near Iraq and its got some of the wealthiest and richest hotels, airlines etc in the world. I think Iraq will become like this.
