ArchivedCONTRADICTIONS IN THE QURANYou prove my point with this quote you just made. When I mentioned the human evolution theory, I was not being serious when I said it was "proof." I was obviously being sarcastic, for you know I believe in God. I was comparing that "proof" of human evolution to your "proof" of the gospel of Mark being corrupted. I do not base my faith on a doubtful Gospel. My faith in the Gospels are based on the prophecies in the Old testament and the promises of God, which no Gospel contradicts. The God of the Bible does not change His mind at the last second, but fulfills His Word. Well, if ya will ma Lady, please verify the authenticity of the Qu'ran, then I will answer your question. Again you misunderstand, and again you prove the point I was making. You just asked me to produce evidence in the Qu'ran which glorifies violence. But I never said (in the post that you quoted from) the Qu'ran glorifies violence. I said how would you like it if a Muslim took something in the Qu'ran out of context (as you would say Islamic extremists do), but the Qu'ran did not really mean that? You are doing the same by saying the Bible teaches to pick up snakes and speak tongues if you are a believer. For the Bible mentions these things, but does not say you have to do them if you are a believer. It is common sense to say if something is original or if something was first to be heard, then you judge the things that come after it by the original source. How would you judge the Qu'ran on this scripture from the Bible: Galatians 1:6-9- I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. Just from this scripture alone, we can "doubt" the authenticity of the Qu'ran. Sorry, I don't mean "doubt," but we PROVED that the Qu'ran is not the Word of God. Also, I liked the fact that you mentioned science as being doubtful, because that relates back to the contradictions you declared the Bible had with science. But that's another story! So you are going to bring proof from a Qu'ran that perverts the true gospel (which is already proved), and use it to show that the Messiah was not to die? When the Bible commentators are being skeptical, they are telling the truth, and they have a right to be. But if the Bible commentators were not skeptical, but BOLD in their evidence, does that make the gospel of Mark more authentic than if they were being skeptical? So the point I am trying to make is, you do not judge authenticity by the skepticism of others. You will probably give me proofs of the authenticity of the Qu'ran through the Hadiths or some other reliable source. But the only reason you would use such sources is because the sources are not being skeptical in their beliefs. There are many Hindu's who are not skeptical in their beliefs, but dont we still believe Hinduism is a false religion? As 1 Corinthians 8:2 says, And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know. So if the Bible scholars were not skeptic, then you would believe? But the Bible says even if an angel said something and is sure of himself, that does not mean it is true. Cheap imitations are judged by the the original source. God's Word would not come 500 years after supposedly a corrupted version of His Word. God is first in everything. If God's Word is to be true, it would be first AND the corrupted versions would be after the true versions. For God is the Almighty, not some guy who after all these years finally decides to come out and say it's time for me for the first time to make my Word be known. I always thought Allah was forgiving and patient? The real God is long suffering. He is not going to break His EVERLASTING promise even if you rebelled a million times. If God makes a promise, He will keep it. If God wanted to forsake Isreal, He would have told Abraham that He would, for God can see the future. God's EVERLASTING promise was to raise Isreal as His nation, get the Messiah to come from that nation and die for the sins of man. That promise was fulfilled and will always be remembered, which is why it is EVERLASTING. Just because you like one way of salvation better than another, does not mean your way is the right way. Or just because you feel one way of salvation makes more sense to you as a human, does not make it right. You have to judge godly things with godly actions. I will close on this scripture from 2 Timothy 4:2-4- Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. And God's people said: A-men |
