Animal rights have become a major issue in our society, so although my example may seem ludicrous I sometimes wonder what some people are thinking in that arena.
The difference between interracial marriages and same-sex unions is that the majority of American's don't object to interracial marriage. They may not want to marry a person outside their race, but that is true of some who won't marry outside their faith. We live in a democracy where the majority rules, not 9 liberal judges who sit in an ivory tower exercising powers our Constitution does not give them.
If you are so sure your side of this issue is just why do an end run around the electorate? Put it to a vote of the people and let them decide.
